As part of Mahila Samman Prakoshth’s “AKSHAYA” program, the girl students of schools and colleges are learning the basics of self–defence.
The program also focuses on developing the girls’ confidence, a positive body language and self- image. It not only makes them aware of possible situations where Gender-based Violence can occur, but also provides them with a skill-set to defend themselves against such violence often as first-responders.
Trainers from the police, U.P. Karate Association and NGOs have contributed in making the program a big success and is very much in demand amongst the girl students.
MSP is also looking at achieving a Limca Book record after facilitating a fortnight long self-defence program of girl students of Jagatguru Kripalu Parishat and other local schools of Pratapgarh through a group demonstration of self- defence moves by 5,500 girl students.
