TRAINING OF POLICE & NGOs ON WOMEN’S RIGHTS:
Uttar Pradesh Mahila Samman Prakoshth, Home department and UNICEF jointly organized a 3 days training program on laws/rights of women and children under Ru-Ba-Ru program at Comfort Inn hotel, Lucknow from 20th-22nd April, 2017.
Participants of the workshop included district coordinators from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, police personnel from Asha Jyoti Kendra and NGOs from various districts of Uttar Pradesh.
“Ru-Ba-Ru” is a dialogue forum between police and the students on issues related to gender equality. It gives a chance for the Mahila Samman Prakoshth to communicate directly with the public and listen to them, while explaining gender equality practices in an accessible way. So far, RUBARU has been conducted primarily with students (both boys and girls) regarding the rights given to women by law and emphasizes on their roles as co-partners and co-workers in achieving social justice. The program is constructed on the premise that their mindset and vision today will define the stability of society tomorrow.
